Catcher in the Rye

I enjoy the book the Catcher in the Rye and I am able to read the book with extreme focus easily.  I enjoy the book because it is very realistic, and that makes it is easier for me to picture the situation in my mind.  Also, I believe that the author adds realism into the book through the use of profane language.  Most of the books that I have read so far in my life have been books that regard profane language as something not worthy of being published.  However, the Catcher in the Rye disregards that and in reality, many people use profane language.  I am not saying that an excess amount of profane language is bad, but by using the necessary amount, J.D. Salinger is able to bring life to his book.  Though much of the book is enjoyable, I do not enjoy the fact that there is no end result to aim for.  The story so far has been based on a man dropping out of college, going to a hotel in New York, and drinking his time away.  From what I have read so far, I feel as if there is no final goal to reach for.  The Catcher in the Rye is like no other book that I have read before and I am looking forward to the second half of reading.
